Brora photos '20

Set off just after breakfast, headed along the Loch Brora road to the Ford, walked through The Doll to Sputie Burn, and then back along the shore. Along the way I got a photo of a willow warbler, a sheep with two lambs having breakfast, a rather fat looking chaffinch, the raven chick in his nest, a fulmar coming in to land on a cliff, and a jackdaw. Excellent walk.

This time I went along the coast and then through The Doll. Here we have an adult Great Black backed gull.

I'm very happy with this shot of one of the fulmars buzzing me. He shot over my head by just a couple of feet. Love these birds.

Two fulmars having a shag. Well, no point building a nest if you're not going to have kids hey?

Here are the two raven chicks. I think they know me by now.

Mr Raven is also giving me some good photos.

And a spring lamb at Badnellan to round the walk off. Brilliant day out.

The raven chicks are fledged and ready to leave the nest. I think they look forward to the grub I bring them. The parents still don't know what to make of me.

Here's the Fannich pool on the River Brora looking resplendent in gorgeous spring sunshine.

Met this wee fella crossing the road. He posed for this photo, and then I helped him across to the other side before a car came and squished him.

And the Cherry blossom is out. It's too gorgeous for words.

Brora is an amazing place for walking. These two seagulls were looking at something, but it wasn't me.

The Raven chicks have left the nest. Doesn't time fly.

The fulmars will be here for a while yet. They take much longer and usually only raise a single chick.

The seals seem to accept me as part of their life now and don't all splash off their rocks and disappear when I get close. Makes for great photos.

The star of the walk was this lamb at Badnellan. I looked through a hedge and there he was nibbling away at fresh ferns just a few feet away. These two images made the whole day worthwhile.
