George 618
Wonderful spring day for a walk. The daffodils are out at last so I wandered around on my own and enjoyed some colour. Does anyone know what the purple. white and red flowers are?

George 618
I spotted these this morning while out on a new walk. I don't think I've ever noticed white bluebells before.
Kitkat 238
Would that not make them white bells?

George 618
Dog rose. Hate these things, they should be classed as dangerous weeds and removed from built up areas because their spiky stalks trail across paths where young children run and play on their bikes. I must have cut back a hundred of these damn things around Brora this year. Pretty flowers though.

George 618
This is a fern, and I think you can eat it and make tea from it. Apparently it's good for you too. It's growing up the Coal Pit road.
George 618
Looks like Great Horsetail isn't supposed to be here in the Highlands. Perhaps a migratory bird brought the first seeds with it and now it is taking root along a ditch bordering the Coal Pit Road. I certainly haven't seen any of this type of fern anywhere else around the Highlands.
George 618
Yep, looks like Brora is the only place in the Highlands where this stuff grows at present.
George 618
Just learned it doesn't have seeds, it spreads by spores.
